School based apprenticeships and traineeships operate over an extended period of time (normally 2 years). Each requires preparation before commencement and ongoing monitoring and management. The Duty of Care process includes information and documentation for each stage of the school based apprenticeships and traineeships.

There are a number of parties involved in the successful establishment of school based apprenticeships and traineeships. The Duty of Care process identifies the roles and obligations of the parties involved.
